The Council is the governing body of the SRC. It is the democratic forum for Glasgow University’s students, through which you are represented.
The Council is made up of the Sabbatical Officers (President and Vice-Presidents), Academic Officers, Welfare and Equal Opportunities Officer and General Representatives.
Council meets a minimum of 6 times a year. It is at Council meetings that policy is passed, and issues affecting students are raised. Council members can then work with the University, and various services and departments to ensure that students’ experience of Glasgow are the best they can be.
From 2011/12 the University will recognise student council members on their University transcript, known as the Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR). This new version of the university transcript will not only list academic achievements, but also many other achievements including being on Council.
