Glasgow on Ice

27th November – 30th December

With George Square’s famous Christmas illuminations as a sparkling backdrop, you’ll be able to show off your ice-dancing moves (and falls) on one of the largest outdoor ice rinks in Europe, alongside a helter skelter, giant swing, carousel and traditional food stalls all set to non-stop music and entertainment from The Big Stage. Open seven days a week until 10pm, closed only on Christmas Day.

Irn Bru Carnival

24 December – 16 January

Roll up, roll up to the IRN-BRU Carnival for an action packed day or night out. It just gets better and better every year. There’s something for all the family with thrill rides, family rides, rides for young kids, games & fun stalls and food stalls.

31st December

Glasgow’s Hogmanay for 2010 takes on a spectacular new format as the city hosts one of Scotland’s biggest outdoor ceilidhs right in the middle of George Square.

Traditional Christmas Market – St Enoch Square

18th – 23rd December

For the 5th time Glasgow will be hosting a Christmas Market in the City Centre – this year back on St Enoch Square with approx 30 stalls.
With numerous traders from all over Europe and of course also highly qualified Scottish craftspeople, visitors can enjoy the festive atmosphere of the yule-tide.

Ghosts of Christmas “Interactive horror attraction with a Christmas theme"

For Glasgow’s very first Christmas scare attraction, The Arches is opening its basement – a maze of hidden passages, dead ends and dark, dark corners – and exposing YOU to the darkness lurking beneath the festivities. From twisted elves, Santa’s grotesque grotto and an evil Mrs Claws, Ghosts of Christmas will take you on a journey through all your favourite Christmas scenes, with a truly horrible twist. Prepare to witness your blackest Christmas yet: and remember, with only one way out, we can’t guarantee you’ll make it to the end...
Expect heart-pounding experiences, racing adrenaline, sinister secrets and sheer, unadulterated terror as you’re left to find out what’s make believe and what’s real..
