Glasgow University Service to the Homeless

Glasgow University Service to the Homeless (GUSH) offers students the opportunity to help homeless people living on the streets of Glasgow.

With thousands of people sleeping rough or at risk of sleeping rough in the city every year, volunteers can really help to make a difference and provide an invaluable service.

GUSH operates every Tuesday and every other Wednesday with Emmaus Glasgow and on Saturdays as a student-led volunteer group.

Volunteers will be tasked with distributing hot drinks and biscuits to patrons
and are required from 7.45pm – 10.30pm. During term-time, this is a popular project, so we generally ask that volunteers sign up for one shift per month.

Shifts are allocated on a first come, first served basis, so you will need to return an application form and then sign up for a shift before you can go.

If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, for further information, or to get an application form, please e-mail volunteer@src.gla.ac.uk
